First Name Tom, Last Name Foolery… And I’m Everybody’s Uncle!

Except this scammer… Alodis Reynolds Jr.

A 52-year-old Edmond man who faked a cancer diagnosis & duped do-gooders out of thousands of dollars has been ordered to spend 20 days in the Oklahoma County jail.

Alodis Reynolds Jr. was also ordered to spend six years on probation. He already has paid more than $30,000 in restitution, but authorities say there were multiple unknown victims.

In October, Reynolds pleaded guilty to four felony counts of obtaining money by trick or deception, & one felony count of using a computer to fraudulently obtain money.

He let a judge decide his sentence. Oklahoma County District Judge Cindy Truong sentenced Reynolds on Wednesday. Truong also ordered him to pay another couple thousand in restitution.

Prosecutors accused Reynolds of raising more than $60,000 in donations in 2015 by falsely claiming to have leukemia & soliciting donations for treatment.

He swindled one couple out of $10,000. He used an online fundraising site, silent auctions & other fundraisers to rake in another $50,000, including more than $18,600 from one person who donated through three separate checks & the website GoFundMe.
