First Name Tom, Last Name Foolery… And I’m Everybody’s Uncle!

Especially this folk songwriting legend… Tracy Chapman.

Recently, Tracy Chapman’s legal team filed a multi-million dollar lawsuit against Nicki Minja based on copyright infringement for the usage of her popular song “Sorry.” Initially, Nicki reached out to Chapman to use the Grammy-winner’s song & samples, but Tracy denied Minaj from doing so.

However, unbeknownst to Chapman, Nicki had already sampled & used the “Fast Car” artist’s song for her now released chart toping album “Queen.” Although Nicki didn’t include the song on the final track listing, a popular New York DJ at HOT 97 leaked the song via social media & aired it doing his radio show, which ultimately sparked TC’s lawsuit.

Alice Walker, author of The Color Purple & partner of Tracy, supports her girlfriend’s quest to justify The Young Money artist wrongdoing. Walker, who is also a Women’s Right Activist, blames the record executives for this unfortunate fiasco.

According to a reputable source, Nicki is furious at the DJ for releasing her songs without her permission. The source claims Minaj is heavily debating suing the DJ for unauthorized use of copyright material in hopes of offsetting a portion of her upcoming judgement verse Chapman.
