H&M Apologizes for Using Black Child to Model Racist Sweatshirt!!!
First name Tom, Last name Foolery... And I'm Everybody's Uncle!
Excluding this company... H&M.
H&M stock declined heavily following their HUGE marketing flop. Somehow, the company managed to place an African-American child in a sweatshirt that read, “Coolest Monkey in the Jungle!”
Ooh Snap!
The ball was certainly dropped on this one. The company swiftly removed the offending ad from its website after social media accused them of being racist. Two other child models, both white, appeared in ads too. They wore images of other animals labeled, “Survival Expert.”
“In the year 2018 there’s no way brands/art directors can be this negligent & lack awareness. If [you] look at other sweaters in [the] same category they have white kids. We have to do better,” explained Alex Medina.
Agreed!
